Lt. Col. Benjamin Franklin was my 1st cousin 3x removed. He is interred at Historic Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, GA. along side two of his daughters... Willie McCollum Tuggles and Evelyn McCollum Cox Barksdale Heisman (first wife of footbal legend John William Heisman).

I am a descendant of Miller Collins, son of Ransom Collins. The list of children of Miller Collins and Delilah Ann Langford Collins is completely inaccurate, except for Susan Bell Collins, my great-grandmother. I have seen this error in other postings on the Collins family. I will gladly supply the correct names if you wish.

I found this today while searching for a William H Collins who is my 3rd great grandfather. I am trying to track down his father and haven't found anything. I think William H was born in McMinnville Tennessee and first appears on an 1860 census in Shelby county alabama. There are a bunch of Collins people that ended up in east alabama from georgia and I'm wondering if there is a connection here.

Thanks for the wonderful story about the Scarecorn Murders. My g g grandfather was Bailey Nalley, was part of the killings & fled the Nalley cabin with his father & mother, and little brother. No one left in our family has heard this story. Apparently Bailey married a Cherokee woman in TN after leaving GA with his parents & brother. They took a flatboat across TN & settled in Southern Illinois to farm (Elvira, Johnson Co.). Amazing that no one passed down this story (or how he got badly scarred from knife wounds). This really spices up my family history!

I don't know if you read this anymore, but my great great grandmother was Telula "Viola" Collins, she married John G Green in Bartow, GA and shortly thereafter joined the rest of her Collins line who defected to Arkansas. I'd love to share notes with anyone else of that line.
